Curtis Michael Thomas, of Vinton, passed away on December 2, 2022, at the age of 72 after a long fight against heart disease. He was born in Roanoke on February 8, 1950.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father, James Thomas and sister, Donna (Gordon) King. He is survived by daughters, Kesha (Brett) Kingswell and Brandi Thomas; his grandchildren, Kristianna (Rex Fairchild) Whorley, Mackenzie and Carter Kingswell, and Katelyn Mills; his great-grandson, Endymion Fairchild; his mother, Laura Bell Thomas; his five siblings, Joyce (Jack) Conner, Jay (Brenda) Thomas, Wanda (Danny) Saunders, Vicky (Hank) Welch, and Lonny (Jane) Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the hard-working and proud owner of Allstate Siding and Windows and often gave his time and knowledge to help others with their building projects. He was a die-hard Virginia Tech Hokie fan and could often be found in the stands supporting the William Byrd Terriers. He enjoyed playing the games of golf, bowling, and softball throughout his adult life. He was lovingly known as “CT” and “Papa CT” to many, and will be remembered for his playful nature and keen way to lighten the room with his jokes and pranks.

The family will hold a celebration of his life later in December. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in his name to the American Heart Association at heart.org.
