Hall of Fame

Candidates are nominated as potential “Hall of Famers” by their peers, with the Board of Directors giving final approval. Originally there were two categories for induction into the Hall of Fame: Superior Performance (Bowling Ability) and Meritorious Service. The Roanoke USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame and the Roanoke Valley USBC Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame were combined into the Greater Roanoke Area USBC Hall of Fame starting with the 2008-2009 bowling season.  As of 2023, the Superior Performance (Bowling Ability) category was renamed to Skill and Ability and a third category, Legacy, was added.

  2. Just slap me in the face, since me and my father was inducted by letting Roy Jordan in.

  3. The Hall of Fame forms were last updated in 2010. The criteria has not changed since then, other than the “deadline” date. If you have suggestions for a newer version of the forms, please contact a member of the Hall of Fame committee (Mike Lyle, Hilarie Akers, Randy Austin or Sheila Hicks).

  4. The Hall of Fame form greatly needs to be updated…It must have been compiled in the 70s.

  5. i have to agree. 14 300s and 13 800s pretty impressive.

  6. Yes i vote for Roy !

  7. Nominations for Hall of Fame Candidates are submitted to the GRAUSBC Board of Directors for consideration. If you (or anyone else) has a nominee in mind, please fill out a form and submit it. Forms are available from our Forms page.
