Richard William Durrett, Jr., age 80 of Hardy died Monday, June 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard W. Durrett, Sr. and Mildred Guest Durrett; sister, Wanda Dorsey; brothers, Jimmy and David Durrett. He was also faithfully married to Dorothy “Dot” Durrett for 49 years prior to her passing in 2013. Mr. Durrett was a man of God of many years as a member of Nineveh Church of the Brethren. He was a talented and gifted musician writing many songs of the years. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Surviving are his children, Joseph Durrett, Richard W. Durrett III, Jonathan Durrett, Nova DeWeese; grandchildren, Lyndsay, Lesley, Katherine, Michael and Phoebe Durrett; brother, Roger Durrett; sisters, Diane Biscan, Nora Lee Chadwell; numerous nieces and nephews.
