Betty Jane Meadows Chocklett, 86, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, 2016. Betty was a longtime faithful member of Belmont Christian Church. She was a member of the Roanoke Valley Women’s Bowling Association (had bowled since the age of 16). She was also in the Home Demonstration Association for 40 years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Creed C. and Hessie Stine Meadows; her brother, Dudley (Bo) Meadows; her sister, Mary Brookman; and her grandson, Phillip Chocklett. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 66 years, Robert Lewis Chocklett Sr.; her sons, Robert (Bob) L. Chocklett Jr., Timothy (Tim) L. Chocklett and wife, Susan, Andrew (Andy) D. Chocklett and wife, June; her daughters, Rebecca (Becky) Jane Lugar, Mary Dawn Hartman and David Galloway, Laurie Ann Pallini and husband, Ian; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ella Mae Bowyer; and her sister-in-law, Phyllis Meadows
