Elizabeth Smith (Liz) Bousman, 85, of Rocky Mount, Va., died at her home on Thursday, August 26, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Gray Bousman; parents, Jim Henry and Martha Betty Perdue Smith; and sisters, Orine Brown McGhee (Wilson), Minnie Dudley (Wilmer), Geneva Mattox (Harman), and Mary Lee Hall. She is survived by three children, Bonnie B. Turner and husband, Eldridge, Kenneth L. Bousman, and James (Jimmy) H. Bousman and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Turner Furrow and husband, J.L., and Thomas Gray Turner; one great-grandchild, Austin Gray Turner; brother-in-law, Carl Hall; and very special nieces and nephews. Caregivers at the home included family members and Betty Hubbard, Jennifer Ciccarello, Lisa Greer, Bonnie Smith, Elsie Harrison, and Lora Faye Manning. Liz was a homemaker and farmer who knew hard work. She was a member of the Doe Run Christian Church where she taught Sunday School in her earlier years. She enjoyed bowling and the fellowship that came with being part of a bowling league for many years.
