Harold Witcher


HaroldWitcher Harold Thomas Witcher was born on December 13, 1943 to the late Birdie Steptoe-Witcher and Thomas Witcher. He was unexpectedly called home to be with God on Sunday, July 12, 2009. Harold accepted Jesus as his Savior and was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was previously a member of the Usher Board and a Deacon. He retired from Steel Dynamics, Inc. (formerly Roanoke Electric Steel) where he worked for 41 years. Harold was an avid bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues. He was also a member of the famous Hustlers Softball Team. He loved life, traveling, good food, and spending time with his family. He was a caring, warm person who loved to joke around and had many friends and close neighbors. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger L. Witcher I and a nephew, Roger Landon Witcher II. Harold leaves a loving family who misses him immensely. Left to cherish his memory are five children, Vinson Moyer (Vanessa), Diana “Dee Dee” Prentiss (William), Sonya “Vickie” Webb (Ermie), Teresa “Missy” Sawab, and Chris Childress; 14 grandchildren, Shakira, Shakale and Shamia Moyer, Maya, Dara and Jana Prentiss, E.J., Jabari, Kanaya and Aaryana Webb, Chantea Brown, Zulimah Sawab, Trey and Aaron Turman; two sisters, Brenda Dudley (Richard) and Shirley E. Witcher; loving nieces, Lynn McClain and Milana Davis and nephew, Michael Atkins and a multitude of family and friends. Condolences may be sent to www.HamlarCurtis.com.
