Jackson Vance

Jackson Vance, 76, of Bedford, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Washington, D.C. on February 14, 1936.

He was an Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War, and was a retired police officer with Prince Georges County, Maryland. Jack was a talented bowler and received many awards, but his proudest achievement was bowling four perfect games.

He is survived by his wife, of 35 years, Hazel Smith Vance; many wonderful friends; and his special loving Chihuahua Lucy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Memorial gifts will be accepted by Bill Tibbs, 218 Shady Oak Lane, Forest, VA 24551. A special appreciation is expressed to the staff of Bedford Hospice Care.
