Jesse P. Bowling

Jesse P. Bowling, 80, of Roanoke, peacefully passed on Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at a local hospital after several years in a local nursing home. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.M. (Bud) and Etta Bowling; and brother, Wallace Bowling. Jesse proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Alaska, and he was employed for 45 years with Precision Fabrics formerly Vinton Weaving Mill. In later life he greatly enjoyed golf and bowling. He was a loving and devoted father, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Jesse is survived by two daughters, Bonnie B. Maxwell, of Roanoke, and Vickie B. Dunnavant and husband, William (Rusty), of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; sisters, Shirley Carroll, of Roanoke, Evelyn Johnson, of Bedford, Inez Sowers, of Roanoke, and Lee McCormick, of Roanoke and Tampa, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express thanks to the South Roanoke Nursing Home for their loving care given to Jesse.
