Kelly F. Gibson, age 60, departed his earthly home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 and entered into his Heavenly home on this day.

He was born April 13, 1961 in Buncombe County, to Christianna B. Gibson of Canton and the late Ralph Gibson.

Kelly grew up in Haywood County where he was a member of the Pisgah High School graduating Class of 1979. He had proudly and honorably served in the United States Army for 13 years. Mr. Gibson was employed with the United States Postal Service and retired after many years of dedicated service. Kelly was a friend to everyone and had an outgoing personality. He enjoyed classic cars, jewelry, and bowling, held a deep love for cats, and faithfully attended his weekly bible study group. In his younger years in Canton, he joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and while residing in Roanoke, VA, he attended Slate Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Harold Preston. Mr. Gibson was active and participated in a wide variety of community activities, and he was deeply involved with the Veterans Affairs.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lydia Gibson of Durham, NC; his children, Kelly F. Gibson, Jr., and Karen C. Gibson of Durham, NC; his mother, Christianna B. Gibson of Canton, NC; his brothers and sisters; Octavia Saine (Timothy) of Springfield, VA, Pamela Gibson of Canton, NC, Paula Gibson-Jones of Canton, NC, David Gibson (Anita) of Charlotte, NC, and Candice Gibson of Charlotte, NC; aunts, Mary Napper of Columbus, OH, Lois Gibson of Canton, NC, Judith Rolle of Jacksonville, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

We rejoice that he is in his Heavenly home on this day, and we will carry his memory in our hearts until we meet again.
