Kevin (Plug) Wade Payne, 52, of Roanoke County, departed his earthly life on Sunday morning, March 6, 2011. Kevin loved working at Mulch ‘n’ More and enjoyed bowling with friends. He was a faithful member of Brookhill Baptist Church. Kevin is survived by his devoted and loving mother and father, Sylvia Ferguson Payne and K.E. Payne, of Roanoke County; his brother, Rick Payne and wife, Debbie, of Roanoke County; his nephew, Corey Payne and wife, Lydia and their son, Graham, of Roanoke; his niece, Kendal Payne, of Roanoke; and Debbie’s children and grandsons. The family would like to thank the staff at South Roanoke Nursing Home for all their care and concern shown for Kevin. A service celebrating his life will be held at Brookhill Baptist Church (Bandy Road) on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Gary Norris and the Rev. Aubrey Dooley officiating. Interment to follow in Bandy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Brookhill Baptist Church or Gentle Shepherd Hospice in Kevin’s memory.
