Lillie Maude Weaver Tilley
Lillie Maude Weaver Tilley, 90, of Salem, Va., went to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 4:48 a.m. in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Lillie was an avid bowler, master seamstress who made dresses for weddings and special occasions, quilts, blankets (that went to military soldiers), flags and other handicrafts that she was continually sharing with her family, friends and acquaintances. She was well known for her loving and sweet spirit.
Lillie was born in Mullens, W.Va., on June 14, 1926, the third of seven children to Christopher George and Ada Agnew Weaver. Of her siblings, she is survived by Cecil Coleman, Russell Weaver, Janet Vipperman and Eldsworth Weaver. She was preceded in death by George and Roby Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Russell Ward Tilley. She is survived by her four children, Glenn Tilley of Salem, Va., Ken Tilley and his wife, Brenda, Chris Tilley and his wife, Peggy, and Debra Tilley Craighead and her husband, Tim, of London, England; nine grandchildren, Russ, James, Kristie, Joshua, Elijah, Lisa and Michael Tilley, Megan and Mack Craighead; seven great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
