Mildred Paxton, 85, of Vinton, passed away on Wednesday evening, July 10, 2013. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord all of her life and loved listening to gospel music. Her other loves included her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and also the many friends she made throughout her 52 years of bowling in the Roanoke Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ira William Paxton Sr.; her parents, John D. West Sr. and Viola Elizabeth Via; brothers and sisters, Georgia Trussler, Christine Spencer, William K. West, John D. West Jr., Preston West, Paul West, and Catherine Ronk.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ira (Billy) William Paxton Jr. and Toni, Robert (Bobby) W. Paxton and Donna; grandchildren, Jaime Paxton Taylor and Joey, Jarrod Paxton and Amanda, Kimberly Paxton Pauley and Jason; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Eli Taylor, Nikkolette Paxton; brothers, Clarence West and Shirley, Richard West and Frances.
