Ralph B. Hale, 74, of Roanoke, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Ralph was born in Franklin County January 27, 1938 and lived in the Roanoke area for more than 40 years. He was the son of the late J.C. and Ruth Johnson Hale.

Ralph worked for Kroger for more than 20 years. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, baseball, and hunting deer.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his sisters, Myrtle Cawley and Mary Angle; brothers, Jack Hale, Johnnie Hale, and George Hale. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dottie Fralin Hale; his beloved Bichon Frise dog, Brandi Wine; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Shirley Hale of San Antonio, Texas, Harry and Gloria Hale of Wirtz; numerous nieces; and nephews.
