Sandra Regina Eubank
Sandra Regina Eubank, 65, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2013, with her family by her side while on vacation in St. Louis, Mo. Sandra was born on February 5, 1948, in Cleveland, Tenn,. to deceased parents, Robert Lee Patrick and Lucy Lois Hayes. Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 41 years, Donald E. Eubank Sr.
She is survived by her three children, Retired Army Sergeant First Class Donald E. Eubank II and his wife, Melissa, Jeffrey Weston Eubank, AECS (AW) (RET) and graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a AS and BS in Professional Aeronautics and wife, Jamie, and her daughter, Regina Lynette Eubank Desper, a graduate of Lynchburg College with a B.S. in Mathematics and Environmental Science and a Masters in Teaching from St. Martin’s University, and husband, John Desper; and 11 grandchildren, Matthew Kyle, Christopher Cody, Zachery James, Kayleigh Rachel, Joshua Weston, and Jacob Wade Eubank, Haley Krisin, Chandlor Delarue, and Caleb Daniel Desper, Katie Edgerly, and Kaycee Brown. She also leaves behind her beloved god daughter, Shea Bambu. Sandra leaves behind her brothers-in-law, Bruce Eubank and wife, Debbie, Gary Eubank, and Kevin Eubank; her nephews and nieces, Michael and fianceé, Katie del Solar, and Mark and wife, Ashton Layman Eubank, Sarah Renee Eubank, Megan Danielle Wright and husband, Tate, and Brian Sumner Eubank; her great-nieces, Anagail Elizabeth and Adalynn Leah Eubank; and her great-nephew, Kaleb Michael Wright. She also leaves behind her special friends who meant the world to her, Margaret Sue Turner Wright, Margaret Mullins Gregory, Elaine Bays-Murphy, Wanda Sue Kemp, and Vicky Bubnell Aldrich.
Sandra was an RN, who retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was a 1993 graduate of Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, with an Associate Degree in Science in Nursing. In 1970, she earned a Diploma in Nursing from Roanoke Memorial School of Practical Nursing. In 1966, she graduated from Northside High School in Roanoke. She wrote and published a book, Room 409 in 2006.
She was well known in the acting community. She currently owned the Blue Ridge-Southwest Virginia Film Office. She was entrepreneur, screen writer, producer, director and author. Sandra has cast actors in major films, network, cable television, and commercials. In her younger days, she enjoyed singing, playing guitar, bowling and ballroom dancing and won many awards and trophies.
I worked with Sandra on occasion, once for a TV commercial for a savings and loan company. We had similar interests in acting, and was a very warm and caring person. I know she will be greatly missed RIP, Sandra.
