Zaida Virginia Beckwith Swedberg

13230073-1_235531Zaida Virginia Beckwith Swedberg, 74, of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013. In her youth, Zaida was a member of the Skate-A-Drone Rollerskating Performers. She retired after 34 years as Executive Director of the Greater Blue Ridge Division of the March of Dimes and was an avid bowler for many years where she was inducted into the Roanoke Valley USBC Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Swedberg Sr.; her parents, Charles E. and Genevieve L. Beckwith; and is survived by one daughter and three sons, Richard E. Swedberg Jr. (Alena Sehnal), Rodney E. Swedberg, Robin E. Swedberg (Jennifer), Zaida S. Cassell (Ronald); two brothers, Charles E. Beckwith (Barbara), George A. Beckwith (Betty); five grandchildren, Angela S. Webb, Katie L. Cassell, Kara L. Cassell, Richard E. Swedberg, Zaida V. Swedberg; three step grandchildren, Ashley D. Long, Amber L. Dudding, D. Matt Dudding two great grandchildren, Joshua A. Webb, Alexis R. Cassell; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
