Adult High Score Award Changes for 2014-2015 Season

Starting August 1, 2014, the high score awards given to United States Bowling Congress adult members for a 300 game, 800 series or 900 series will become once-in-a-lifetime awards. This change comes as part of USBC’s strategy to focus resources on national governing body services.  As part of the change to the high score awards program, any USBC member who received an award in one of the high score achievement categories as an adult prior to August 1, 2014, will not receive an award for that achievement again. The 11-in-a-row award also will be eliminated as part of the changes.

2013-2014 Sanction Fee Information

Sanction fees for the 2013-2014 bowling season are $18.00 for everyone (adults and youth). The GRAUSBC will be paying $7.00 (the state and local part) towards each YOUTH sanction. Adults will be responsible for the full $18.00, youth will be responsible for $10.00 (the national amount). Breakdown of the sanctions fees:

USBC $10.00
VSUSBC $ 1.00
GRAUSBC $ 7.00

Fall Leagues Ready to Roll

Fall Leagues are just around the corner, and league meetings start as early as tonight (August 7, 2013). The league meeting is where the starting date, number of weeks, type of roll-off and other items are decided. Please attend your league meeting if at all possible. A calendar of known leagues and meeting dates/times is available under our Calendars page.

Les Dames de 700 Bowling Club 2013 Mail-O-Graphic Tournament

The Les Dames de 700 Club is conducting a mail-o-graphic singles tournament. League scores from October 6 through November 2, 2013 will be used. If your league bowls weekly, you may enter that league one, two three or all four weeks. This tournament will be handicapped at 90% from 230 and will be USBC certified. 2012-2013 GRAUSBC Average Books are now available on-line under our Averages page. Since USBC requires associations to publish summer averages beginning this year, the 2012 Summer Averages are available also. Averages are also available from the USBC Member Search option on bowl.com. Please remember to read the average requirements for any tournaments carefully.
