New USBC Youth System Starts August 17

(Taken verbatim from www.bowl.com)

The United States Bowling Congress will launch its new Internet-based system for processing youth league bowlers on Monday, Aug. 17. The new system will process membership, awards and averages for youth bowlers starting with the 2009-10 season. WinLABS will no longer be available to process youth leagues.

Because the new method is an Internet-based system, associations and bowling centers will be able to process their youth membership from any computer with Internet access. The system also will allow for a more efficient means of system upgrades throughout the year without the need for software downloads.
The USBC is concluding a thorough testing and evaluation of the processing system. In addition, educational materials and system information are in development and will be distributed prior to the official launch.

A quick reference guide will be released on Aug. 10. The USBC will have three educational programs (webinars) on how to use the system prior to its launch. The dates of the webinars (all times are Eastern): Tuesday, Aug. 11, 7 p.m.; Friday, Aug. 14, 3 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 15, 11 a.m.
