National 600 Club 2013 Mail-O-Graphic Tournament

The National 600 Bowling Club, Inc. is conducting a mail-o-graphic singles tournament for its members. This tournament will be held beginning January 27 through February 16, 2013. Copies of the entry form, score verification form and tournament rules are available on the National 600 Bowling Club website and under our Forms page.

There are two forms to be used. The entry form with entry fee(s) must be returned postmarked no later than January 19, 2013. League scores for the dates of January 27 through February 16, 2013 will be used. You may enter in each league that you are a member, however, entrant may cash only once in each division entered. The score verification form must be returned postmarked no later than March 2, 2013. Please remember to include a copy of your league recap sheet with current average and signed verification form.

An Incentive award will be given to the State 600 Club and Local 600 Club with the most entries in the tournament. Please specify what 600 Club you belong to. If you do not have a local 600 club please use your local association. We are challenging each of you to bring in at least one new entrant to our Mail-O-Graphic Tournament. Remember they must be a member of the National 600 Club.

New AMF Hilltop Lanes Women’s High Series

A new house record was set on the evening of Monday, October 1, 2012 at AMF Hilltop Lanes. Kathy Taylor had games of 266, 259 and 244 for a 769 series. Fantastic bowling Kathy! Congratulations!

3rd Roanoke Woman Rolls Sanctioned 300

Sunday, September 30 at 3:00pm and a 300 was rolled! Pre-bowling for next Saturday’s Vintonites Mixed League session, Christal Schaeffer became just the 3rd Roanoke woman to roll a sanctioned 300. She finished out with a 173 followed by a 182 for a 655 series. Excellent shooting Christal, congratulations!

2012-2013 USBC League and Tournament Rule Changes

During the 2012 USBC Annual Meeting’s legislative session, three league rule changes and one tournament rule change were approved by the delegates.

LEAGUE RULE CHANGES

  1. ALL games bowled in a playoff or special contest (i.e., league tournament) WILL count towards the individual’s final league average but will NOT count towards special league individual prizes.
  2. A league’s board of directors is allowed to adjust a player’s average upward during the season with a two-thirds vote.
  3. Total pins PLUS HANDICAP is to be used to break ties for position matches in handicap leagues.

TOURNAMENT RULE CHANGE

  • Require bowlers to use the highest of either their composite average of all leagues or the bowler’s highest single-league average of 21 games or more.
