The 2012-2013 schedule for the Ann St. Hilaire Annual Youth Traveling Scholarship Tournament has been posted to the Youth page and is noted on the GRAUSBC Calendar.
During the 2012 USBC Annual Meeting’s legislative session, three league rule changes and one tournament rule change were approved by the delegates.
LEAGUE RULE CHANGES
- ALL games bowled in a playoff or special contest (i.e., league tournament) WILL count towards the individual’s final league average but will NOT count towards special league individual prizes.
- A league’s board of directors is allowed to adjust a player’s average upward during the season with a two-thirds vote.
- Total pins PLUS HANDICAP is to be used to break ties for position matches in handicap leagues.
TOURNAMENT RULE CHANGE
- Require bowlers to use the highest of either their composite average of all leagues or the bowler’s highest single-league average of 21 games or more.
More information regarding the USBC Playing Rules & Commonly Asked Questions can be found on bowl.com under the Leagues tab.
Entry forms for the 2012-2013 GRAUSBC Women’s and Open Annual Tournaments are now available at the bowling centers and on our FORMS page. NOTE THE DATE CHANGE! THE TOURNAMENTS ARE BEING HELD THIS SEASON DURING THE OCTOBER-NOVEMBER TIME FRAME. Once again, bowlers are allowed to bowl team, doubles and singles more than once, but must change teammates for team event and partners for the doubles event. The FIRST time an event is bowled will count towards all-events. Questions regarding rules or entries should be directed to Mike Eckles, 540-797-9539.
