TheBurgs, a website and print publication covering Blacksburg, Christiansburg and communities of the New River Valley has a column today in their Sports section (Don’t Let Age Fool You – Senior Leagues Are Good) focusing on their senior bowlers and their accomplishments at the recent Virginia State Senior Tournament. Their first story of the bowling season was “In The Zone“, a recap of the first few weeks of Youth and Senior bowling. It’s good to see that some local media still show an interest in local bowling stories and accomplishments.

2011 State Senior Tournament Standings
Standings for the 2011 State Senior Open and Women’s Tournament have been updated as of October 23, 2011. The standings are available on the Virginia State USBC website under the Senior Tournaments page and are also available under our Standings page.
A new format for the calendars of bowling events has been implemented on the GRAUSBC Website and is also available on the GRAUSBC Facebook page. On the website it is under the “Calendars” page; on Facebook it is accessible via the “Calendar” tab
The default display is for the current month and is a compilation of 5 separate calendars: GRAUSBC events, League Meetings, Other Bowling Events, USBC and VASTATEUSBC events. The calendar can be viewed in month, week or agenda formats, as well as viewing individual calendars or a combination of calendars. To change the format, click on the “Month”, “Week” or “Agenda” tab. To change calendars, there is a drop-down menu available via the small arrow next to the “Agenda” tab that allows a choice of calendars. In the month view, the events are color-coded by calendar to help distinguish between them.
This calendar is intended to promote ALL bowling events and the sport of bowling in general. If you have a bowling event of ANY sort (sanctioned, non-sanctioned, tournament, fund-raiser, etc), please send the information to info@grausbc.org.
Results for the 2011 Virginia State Youth Handicap Tournament are now available on the Virginia State USBC Website Youth Tournament page and under our standings page. The results do not include hometowns or associations.
